Jack Delano, who was born in Russia, raised in Philadelphia, and lived all his adult life in Puerto Rico, authored and illustrated a charming little book, meant to encourage an appreciation of trees on the earth. It was turned into a filmed cartoon by the Conservation Trust (Fideicomiso de Conservación de Puerto Rico,) for which Jack wrote the music, asking Camerata Caribe to record it. The result is a charming film, available in English and/or Spanish on DVD. The music (scored for flute, clarinet, bassoon, percussion and piano) can be played in concert version, being premiered in a Camerata Caribe concert at the Conservatory on November 29, 1987.
